Today mommy and daddy decided to bring Lucas & Giselle to Marina Square Shopping to the Barney Meet & Greet Session. However, when we reached the location, we discovered to our horror that the Barney show was already over (It was from 3 June to 11 June).

Mommy felt very bad that dear Lucas may be sad because he can't see Barney. That was because for the whole morning Lucas had been a very good boy. He kept reaffirming with Mommy that we were going to watch Barney Show today. During lunch time, Lucas even told Mommy that after lunch he would go to sleep so that he can see Barney soon. Daddy had to tell Lucas that Barney was not feeling well and so had to go home to rest.

Daddy and mommy both felt very bad that Lucas did not get to watch the Barney Show today, so we decided to blog it to remind ourselves that we will not make this mistake again.

Lucas' Birthday Bash

For Lucas' Birthday, we had part 1 and 2. Part 1 was at Lucas' Child Care Centre while the second part was at home. Something funny about Lucas' cakes. Last year, when we ordered the Elmo CAke for him, the icing cream was red in colour. This year when we ordered the 2 cakes, we didn't really specified the preference for icing cream colour, and guess what? The red icing cream came back to haunt us again, haha... We would like to say a big thank you to all our friends and family for their presents and presence.

It was a beautiful Sunday with the sun hiding behind the clouds. We went on a trip to the zoo with Li Jiao Gu Gu and Uncle Andy...

We went to the Elephants of Asia show and even fed giant tortoises. Lucas and Giselle were most fascinated at the size of the tortoises. haha...

In fact we had a marathon day that day... after the Zoo trip we went for a picnic with Joyce and company at East Coast... the kids absolutely love it as they changed into bathsuits and played sand at the beach.

We went to Sentosa on the last day of the Flower Ex. We even went to see the pink dolphins and underwater world. Lucas and Giselle were mesmerised by the fishes. Lucas got the chance to touch the dolphin with Daddy, and as usual, he was "scared".

Today as I went window shopping, I chanced upon the new Samsung Galaxy Tab, a 7 inch touchscreen tablet. As the gadget was based on Android 2.2 OS, it was able to show Adobe Acrobat documents on the internet. I decided to try this gadget out by going to Lucas and Giselle's Blog.

I wanted to see if this gadget was able to play the videos that i had posted long time ago. What I saw was Lucas in 2009 when he was just about coming to 1. Wow how time flies. Back then Uncle Rodney was able to lift him in his arms and fly him around like a plane. I was also able to pick him up with ease and twirl him round and round.

Looking back at the continuous updates when we first started this Blog and comparing the state that it is in now, I realise that we have been neglecting this Blog. I recalled our motive for wanting a blog - so that we can refer to this blog in future when we grow old and relive the beautiful memories of our children. Henceforth we will try our very best to update our beautiful blog with fun and laughter, tears and emotions.

It has been a while since Mummy has read a book with Lucas. Well because recently a lot of things happened around us... anyway its a long story...

Just to cut the story short, we haven't been able to read books to Lucas & Giselle on a regular basis. Last night we finally got a chance to read to Lucas ( Giselle was already in la-la land by then) he was very happy. Mummy end up reading about ten books to him.

The best reward for Mummy was that when Lucas went to bed last night, he told mummy
"Mummy I love to read with you!"

This Sunday we brought Lucas and Giselle to East Coast for a picnic with our friends. Lucas simply loved the sand and the sea. Giselle seemed more reserved... she did not like the sensation of sand and sea... well we will work on that slowly. We brought along food and drinks for everyone. Mummy and Daddy even had the chance to go cycling since we had so many baby sitters at hand. We took gruop photos,played frisbee and as the sun began to set we played with some sparklers. It was a wonderful to bring an eventful week to an end.

Overdue Video for Giselle

How time flies, Giselle has just passed her 1st Birthday. As usual, Daddy is compiling a video of the past year for Baby Giselle, Hopefully it will be complete by August.
It is Daddy's wish that both Lucas and Giselle gets their Birthday Videos every year. Since we can't turn back the clock, at least we can still catch glimpses of our babies through these videos.
The best thing is that many many years from now, we could then look back and appreciate the beautiful memories.

Smart little aleck with pretty good memory

Lucas boy continues to astound Mummy with his good memory. A few days ago, Mummy Doris was playing a computer interactive game with Lucas. It was an alphabet game
i.e. "A" for Apple, "B" for Boy and when it came to "J" before Mummy could say anything Lucas just shoot out "Jack In The Box" and true enough the answer was " Jack In The Box".
We figure that he remembered about what "J" stands for but we are just bewildered how he manages to do so....

As parents we just hope that our kids will grow up in good health and happy spirits, anything else is really a bonus.
I guess all parents wish the same for their babies.

Trip to Universal Studio Singapore

Together with Joyce and Rod we took leave on a Friday to go to Universal Studio in Sentosa, and by the time we reach there at 10 plus there were already a large crowd. We could see lots of foreign visitors even though the roller coaster rides were still out of action. Luckily the weather was kind to us, it rained slightly and the sun was hiding away. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, so did Lucas. As he was still small he could only take limited rides such as Carousel and Shrek 4D. We even caught Rodney in the act when he pushed a stranger stroller by mistake... hahaha...
Nevertheless, it was an eye-opener for all of us. Enjoy all the nice photos !

Trip to Science Centre

Over the weekend we brought our 2 babies together with Evelyn to the Science Centre. We had lunch at Mac and then went to the IMAX theatre to catch the show on Beavers. Luckily both Lucas and Giselle sat through the show with very good behaviour. Thereafter, we toured around the area. We even managed to do a little scientific experiment to extract Kiwi Fruit's DNA into a test tube. That was so cool. Most of the second floor was under renovation and the water theme park was closed. Nonetheless we brought the annual family pass and hopefully the place should be fully operational when we return.

Hi everyone,

Mummy me just wanna penned this all down. Yes my gal turn 1 yesterday.
I am so happy & cannot imagine that time really flies by no wander they always say "Time will wait for no man " so true still remember the day i delivered my gal i breast feed at TMC, did my confinement,celebrated her full month & now she is one year old

At times i have to admit that it is never easy to take care of both kids and before Giselle was born i ask hubby how how how to survived can we cope ? can we give them the best ? all these questions was on my mind.

Till day i should proudly say we did well for at least 90% hee.Seeing them grow did really bring joy n sweet memories to our life and also make us to be a better partner to each other ,a better parent for the kids n a better person for family & Friends.

We both grown to be more patient, responsible, sensible well that for me haha.
and i still learning to be A BETTER mom & mummy

I would like to take this opportunity to say a simple thank you to those people that had helped us in one way or another.

1) My Mother in law,Sis in law & KS without fail they will always be there to baby sit our kids when we needed some time off, or to attend wedding dinner really appreciate it .Thank so much.

2) My sis & brother in law - Thanks Rod for fetching the kids when stuart is on 24 hr duty and thanks sis for staying over the night during these few month that we are not able to go back to my in law hse.

3)Best friends & cousin like Yen Gary n Rico for coming by almost every friday to our hse for dinner n gathering as u all know that is never easy to go out for dinner with two kids. Thanks Guys...just simply love u all .

4) My six aunt for helping us to take care of Lucas at times so we could do some proper shopping in town haha

5)Lastly my hubby for helping me with the kids & housework chores.Babysit them when i had dinner with my friends on weekday night and patting them to bed

Daddy's Thoughts

Recently, Daddy Stuart & Mummy Doris attended a relative's funeral. During those sombre moments, Daddy's mind thought about lots of things related to life and death :

a. CHERISH THE TIME - That we should cherish the time we have with our parents while we can. Remember when we were young as kids, we would always clamour for food and toys when we go out with our parents? Our parents would willingly buy them just to make us happy. So now we should repay them. Try recalling your parent's favourite food and buy it for them. I bet this will bring a smile on their face.

b. SHARING OF KNOWLEDGE - That we should make use of everyday activities to show and teach our kids about morals, knowledge and ehtical values. Remember when we would ask 1001 questions as kids because we are just so curious? Even for something as mundane and/or taboo topic such as funeral can be used as a lesson. i.e. we can tell our children that in future PaPa/MaMa will also be pass away and leave them. Therefore it is important to do the things you want to achieve so that you will have no regrets when you die.

c. BE A ROLE MODEL - I remember once as a kid I had to attend a funeral because the deceased is a a relative of my God-mother. It was a funny situation and I was an unwilling soul and argued with my mum over it. Now, in retrospect, I realised that by insisting that I performing such a duty, and by making sure I buy something for my God-mother every Mother's Day, my mum actually imbued into me values on how to be a dutiful and filial person. Same thing, as parents we should be a good role model because our children are constantly looking up to us. We should try to explain to our kids the reasons behind the things we do so that they will understand. Maybe not when they are still young but I'm sure someday somehow they will.

Fun at Marina barrage

It has been a craze to fly kites these days so here we are off to marina barrage to do so.

It was a Super hot day as all of us was on vegetarian that day mummy was not able to prepare any food however we did tao bao some vege noodles & popiah for picnic.

Gu gu & bf came along with us. When we were there there was already a lot of ppl flying their kites. when Lucas sees that he immediately say "Look mummy kite fly high up the sky " I was pretty impressed that he could actually link up this sentence all by himself and of cos he was excited for the kite flying i guess

Daddy & him try for their fist time and was successful the kite went fly up the sky . Mei mei was also happily eating away some bread. As the weather was really really hot we did not stayed up too long at the slope so we packed up & proceed down to the water play area to cool off...

As usual Lucas just went crazy when he see the water and ask " Mummy help take out shoe ."
Daddy & him enjoyed themselves in the cooling water mummy me also went to dip my feet.I tell u it was good very shiok ...
Initially wanna go to marina square to have some ice cream treat but change of plan as both the kids fallen a sleep in daddy car so we decided to go home ...

Hmm.. mummy me have to pen this down as i having so many mixed feeling for my two darlings last day at the centre yes they will be going to a new school on Monday

was due to the new school fee is very so much cheaper $288 for lucas and it include external party to come in to teach speech & Drama, Music & movement & Phonics too..in the long run for both of them we will save up to 50% of what we are paying now so we had made the CRUEL decision

haiz... sorry son i know that you had just enjoyed your school days & comfy with the teacher but hor the teachers in the school also keep changing.from DEC till now lucas had change 6 teachers haha that is also one of the factor we change the school

I really hope that lucas will be able to adapt to his new school soon and make new friends ,any way some of the friends is also joining the centre.
I sorry son that u have to start all over again but mummy have confidence that u can do it cos u have a bubbly character like me

As for my darling gal i less worries but still there is still some concern is that this gal need a while to warm up & get familaised with the environment luckily is that Kor Kor is around with him & hope that help

Fun at the beach

It was a typical sunday and we head to the beach... The weather was cloudy and not too hot... just nice for some photo taking... Daddy had always wanted to bring us to the botanic garden and i wanna thanks Daddy for sacrificing his Sunday soccer play with his friends to make this outing possible.

WOW really we heard about this jacob garden for kids as this is our first time there we were not well prepared we park at the botanic side and walk down a fare bit. Lucas was in good mood he hold mummy hand walk and walk.

We walked past some birds & pigeons luacs gave chase and daddy took some wonderful pictures.

As we enter the the Jacob garden there is a small water play area for the the kids so expected lucas wanted to play but we came unprepared as we did not know there would be water play so in order not to disappoint him we took off his clothes and that explain why he is in diapers oh my so shameful sorry folks.

We had some sand play as well there is also a suspension bridge The place is nice will explore it again as we did not really complete the left side of the garden

Yes we were off to the Zoo again. Mummy got up early to prepared some food for the trip. This time round we went with yi yi and Yi Zhang.We had lots of fun. Saw a friend's blog that there is a cool thing the "scooter" wow a bit expensive is $35 for rental but the only good thing is that is unlimited time and yes it has help us to lessen the load to carry Lucas when he is tired.It also allow us to travel from place to place in the fastest way haha

The kids had their first elephant ride.Manage to complete one itinerary as planned the feeding of the Kangaroo.This time round we did not get to see any animal show as we decide to bring Lucas & giselle for the water play at Kidz World.

WOW lucas went crazy took all the rides with daddy while mummy , yi yi & giselle take a dip in the cold water too.

We had lunch there and follow by a few stop by to look at the leopard, orang utan,before we head to the exit

Lucas is super tied already but he still hang in there till he is on daddy car he doze up to lala land even before we go leave the carpark.

and YES we love ZOO will go again ...

Today the childcare centre brought the kids on an excursion to the Science Centre. Daddy tagged along and took loads of photos... Didn't know that the outdoor place have been converted into a big water-play park... At the end of the excursion, the kids went crazy as they played in the park.

The Marina Bay Sands is officially opened but we are more interested in the Double Helix Bridge... as usual Giselle went asleep as soon as we reached. The bridge is truly beautiful and spectacular.

Daddy's going to miss those days

For the past 2 weeks, Lucas and Giselle stayed at home recovering from their Chicken Pox and I had been taking care of them. So now that they have fully recovered and can return to the Childcare Center, I can’t help but miss those days at home with them.

At first, I was apprehensive as I have never taken care of our 2 babies on my own for the whole day… I was also unsure when it comes to cooking porridge as Mummy always takes care of things. But I told Mummy not to worry as I will give it my best shot.

Surprisingly, everything turned out well and I actually quite enjoyed the time at home with them. Here’s a run-down of how I spend the day with them.

07.30am
Mummy gets up and gets ready for work. The babies also wake up. I start to prepare breakfast for Lucas which consist one slice of bread and milo. Giselle gets her milk.

08.30am
One by one, I will take them for shower. By now, Lucas is glued to the TV.

09.00am
There’s Sesame Street on the TV. Since I’m a big fan of it, I allowed Lucas to watch it. Giselle entertains herself with soft toys on the ground. She does not quite like being kept in the cot and prefers crawling around. She’s starting to stand up now.

10.30am
If the weather is good, I will bring the 2 babies down to the playground. This is Lucas’ favorite. He gets to run around and explore too. I enjoyed the time too as I can take photo-shots of them.

11.00am
It’s getting hot so I bring them back home. Giselle usually falls asleep on the stroller. Lucas is covered in sweat and sand so he needs another bath. After that I put Lucas to bed and give him his milk. He goes to sleep without me patting him.

12.00pm
While they are asleep, I cook porridge and wash the clothes. I could also do some checking of emails.

1.30pm
Lucas wakes up followed by Giselle. I fed them their porridge.

2.30pm
It gets very hot and stuffy in the afternoon. We retreat to the study where I read books to them in the cool comfort of air-condition. Funny though, whenever I try to read to Lucas, Giselle will crawl over and try to squeeze in. Lucas will kick up a fuss. Lucas tried playing some computer games too. There are many of them on www.sesamestreet.org.

4.00pm
I tried to let Lucas do some painting, potatoe-stamping and plasticine. You should look at his face. There was once Lucas watched a Hi5 video about people doing arts and craft. He immediately turned to Mummy and said he wanted to do painting outside. Other times, I bring out the water guns and we two chased each other around the corridor. Poor Giselle can only watch from inside the house.

5.00pm
We head back in the house and Lucas stay glued to his TV again… Lucky we had quite some DVDs. We waited for Mummy to come home from work and cook dinner.

I never realized that there are so many different things to do with children and I’m glad I have the chance to spend some quality time with them over the 2 weeks. In fact, I feel that my bonding with Lucas and Giselle just got better.

Lucas has developed the habit of listening to us reading books to him before bedtime. He is getting better with his articulation, saying things like “I want to go toilet” “I want to read books”, “Thank you” and “Good Night”. Giselle is starting to pick up speed with crawling and she just keeps chewing on everything she can find. I think she will be able to walk before her first birthday.

Giselle is recovering soon drying up state. Poor boy tell me "yang yang" here and there i try to apply the Carmeline lotion to relive the itch a little hope u recover soon son.

Today in the evening Daddy suggest that we all go walk walk the intial plan was to AMK hub to shop around but later daddy had this even better idea that we can go East Coast park for dinner at our all time favourite "Cha chang Ting "and so off we went. wow the night of east coast since happening there is a mini carnival for kids with lots of kiddy rides so u can imagine how excited & happy my son was ??? We promised that we will allow him to seat after dinner so he was very well behaved during the meal time & even allow mummy & Daddy to enjoy the food .. See how happy he is this is also his first time sitting on the carousel with daddy

Febrile Fits can scare the wits out of you !!!

On Saturday, Lucas was running a fever about 38.5 Deg C. at Granny's house. In fact that very morning we brought him to see his pediatrician. So we went thru the standard routine of giving him showers to cool him down and gave him the panadol syrup, thinking that it would do... We decided to go to IKEA for some window shopping and then head home around evening time.

At first Lucas was quite ok, jumping onto the rocking chair and fooling around. He even went down the lengthy staircase all by himself. At the 1st floor, we placed him onto the push trolley and wheeled him around. Then out of the blue, Lucas' head went falling to one side. Initially, Mummy still thought that Lucas was fooling around and tried to push his head back. But Daddy thought otherwise, because Lucas' face was pale and his eyes were starting to roll upwards.

Scared stiff in that split second, Daddy knew that Lucas was having a fit and he quickly lifted Lucas out of the trolley. Daddy could feel Lucas' whole body stiffening up and trembling. At the same time, Daddy placed his fingers into Lucas' mouth to prevent him from biting his tongue.

We placed Lucas down onto the floor(laying him by his side) and called out his name repeatedly. We kept talking to him "Lucas don't scare Mummy & Daddy ok? Wake up Wake up !!!" --------- Deep inside Daddy was praying to SOMEONE UP THERE "Pls help my son come to, I beg of you"

At the same time Mummy was constantly massaging Lucas limbs to get his blood flowing. Fortunately, after a good 3 minutes , Lucas finally came to but he was still feeling very weak. We dropped everything and head for KK Hospital straight away.

At the hospital, Lucas was admitted for observation because he has hit 39.9 Deg C. The doctor explained that what had happened was a term called "Febrile Fits" and it is pretty common for kids age 6 months - 6 years old to have such fits if their fever is too high i.e. more than 38.5 Deg C. Lucas was given panadol (insert into his behind ) and his temperature was monitored. After waiting for 2 hours, his temperature plummet to 36.5 Deg C.

Both of us have learnt valuable lessons from this episode -
a) That we should never take Kid's Fever for granted.
b) Do not panic! Lay the child on his side. Do not put your hand into his mouth as that might cause him to choke.
c) If the Febrile Fits persist for more than 15 minutes, call the Ambulance.
d) When we see our child suffering, we really wished we could take his place.

Mummy was shocked one evening by Lucas as he count 1-10 when playing at granny house.

I had noticed that he have learn a lot in school. Teacher had given good feedback's on him he loves music & story time, He is outspoken , naughty at times too overall Teacher say he is consider a good & intelligent boy at this age.

Mummy & daddy have been so guilty that we have not been paying too much attention on this gal . wow she how she had grown .everybody who see her the very first comment will be "WOW HER HAIR SO THICK & BLACK SO NICE "

She is in the 8 month now she able to sit upright , turn over , crawl, and even mumbles some baby talk able to call out for attention reach out to us and signal us to carry best is she could call papa not fair both my kids call papa first.

Coping well at the infant care she is happy with the teachers there as well. Started her semi solid food too and i can say she enjoys so much.. just hope she will be like my boy who eats everything and not picky.

Its been ages since we've been to Bird Park. So it was really an eye opener today. Together with Gu Gu Evelyn and Uncle Jian Sheng, we brought our 2 little babies to have a look at birds. Not too bad considering the Birdpark has lots of slopes here and there. Enjoy the photos

Fruitful day @ the Zoo

It seems that when you really do some planning when visiting the zoo, you will be able to achieve more at the zoo. This was evident today when we set out to see the following :

Our original plan was to complete the following in half a day :

Giraffe Feeding --> Jaguar Feeding --> Orangutans

En-route to our objectives, we were pleasantly surprised by a few pitstops along the way. Here goes ....

Setting off from the Main Entrance,we stopped at the Polar Bear's enclosure.

Thereafter we resume our journey to Giraffe Feeding followed by Jaguar Feeding. We really must commend Lucas as he was pretty brave as he did not drop any fruits when feeding the giraffes.

We then decide to go to Elephant of Asia performance where we got to feed the Elephants.

Impressive Lucas & emerging Giselle

Today was Lucas third swimming lesson and today Mummy Doris went into the water together. Wow were we impressed by Lucas. He was able to warm up to the Teacher Johny and listen to his instructions. He even managed to kick his legs. When the teacher asked Lucas to climb onto the ledge and stand there, Lucas was able to do it all by himself. From there we sang "Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall", "Humpty Dumpty had a great fall!" Lucas was suppose to fall into the water. For the first few tries, he squatted down and dropped into the water rather meekly, but as he got comfortable with it, this little fellow simply plunged into the water all by himself. " Great Job Lucas!!! We are so proud of you.

As for little Giselle, she has also been improving by leaps and bounds. Giselle is now able to roll about. There was once at Granny's place, where Aunty Evelyn left her unattended on the bed just for a few seconds. Before we can spell G-I-S-E-L-L-E, this baby girl dropped off the bed onto the floor. As expected, she cried her heart out. Giselle is also able to hold her own milk bottle by her own hands ( Yeah finally Daddy can have some rest while feeding her ) Just today, Mummy Doris was holding her while drinking a cup of water. Giselle surprised us all by reaching out for Mummy's cup and drank from it.

Dear Giselle and Lucas, many years down the road, when you come across this blog posting, there is one thing Daddy and Mummy want you to know : We love you two very much and it is our hope to provide the best environment for you to have fun and learn about everything and become an extraordinary person.

A pleesant surprise to end the year 2009

The last blog for 2009 is a happy. Mummy promised to write this blog no matter how tired she is at the end of the day.

This morning, on our way to the Childcare Centre, Lucas behaved very well. Once we left the house, Lucas carried his own bag all the way to the doorstep of the Childcare Centre.

As the car turned into Serangoon North Ave 5, there were no whining and crying from him. When we got out of the car, Lucas continued carrying his little blue bag. When we reached the doorstep of the Childcare Centre, both Mummy and Daddy half expected Lucas to start his usual Serial Drama style crying. But nope, Lucas remained super calm and sat down for the Teacher to measure his temperature and took his dose of Cod Liver Oil.

When Teacher Siew Kee brought him into the Childcare Center, he turned back and wave goodbye to us. Most amazing part is, throughout the entire episode, Lucas did not shed a tear ! Well Done Son, we are very very proud of you!!!

Now the only challenging part about today was that there will be a long weekend due to New Year Holidays. We sure hope that come next Monday, Lucas will still behave like an angel.

Giselle's Maiden Swim

Tuesday - Today as we send Lucas to Cherie Hearts, he reacted in a calmer manner. Although it was still hard for him when the time came for us to part, he still held his hands out for Teacher Jennifer to carry him.

According to Teacher Huang, Lucas is starting to enjoy his meals. He manage to feed himself with 3 bowls of cereals.

Teacher Marina observed that Lucas joined in the fun with the rest of the boys during Assembly Time. This was impressive considering that Lucas used to hate Assembly Time and would always cry.

Teacher Mae told us that they tried to wean him of his pacifier after his afternoon nap. And what surprised her was that he did not even asked for his pacifier after his nap.

We are glad that things had turned out well for Lucas at Cherie Hearts. We surely did not regret the decision to enrol him at such a tender age because he will defintely leatn lots of things at Cherie Hearts.

The following week @ ChildCare Centre

It was a Monday of the following week. We noticed that Lucas was happy today and did not seem too bothered about going to school. He did not whine a bit at home. We gave him his bread and soya milk while he watched his favourite Barney video.

As we drove him to school, he was chirpy as usual and seemed relaxed. As we reached the doorstep of Cherie Hearts, he started to cry a bit. When we passed him over to Teacher Joyceline, they went down to the Sheng Siong Supermart for a walk while we conveniently disappear.

Later that day, Teacher Joyceline told us that while at Sheng Siong, he asked to be brought to see the fishes. Lucas even managed to point out and pronounce correctly some items i.e. Bear, Mickey Mouse. The teachers also reported that he is behaving slightly better and playing along with the othter kids. The teachers mentioned that Lucas loves music and story-telling. Teacher Jennifer pointed out that he would listen attentively to her during story-telling.

We can see that Lucas is slowly accepting reality and gradually adapting to his new environment. Slowly but surely he is getting there... Well done son, Daddy & Mummy are very proud of you !

Potty Training for Lucas

Whenever he calls us to check his diapers, we being "smart" parents start to bring Lucas to the toilet bowl and made him sit there to play the waiting game. So far we have not succeed. Let's hope we can speed up this process and get him trained soon.

There comes a time when Lucas starts to tell us " Mama, Poo Poo !! Check !!" beckoning for us to check his diapers to see if they are soiled.

Day5 @ school..

U must be wondering why there is a break in between cos for day 3 & day 4 my son was sick .Poor boy think he is too stressed up till he has high fever and so he did not go to school.

Here is day 5 update as usual when mummy leave he cry but this time i could sense that he is slightly better le as maybe he has accepted the fact that he be there for good eventually according to teacher he sleeps well too .Mummy is so happy to know that yeah keep up son

Rise & shine we sent lucas to school. Mummy was prepared to stay in school with him till maybe nap time
when mummy reach the school the principal Joycelyn took him away from me i was shocked as i feel today is only day 2 and of cos my boy cry like mad .At this moment of time mummy was heartbroken and also almost wanted to cry with him but i tell myself i must be strong for him & daddy keep asking me to go away

he is right also as if i going to step in again than the teacher effort will be gone
so the heartless mummy just went off

At about noon i called up the school to checked on him and was informed by the teachers that he cry till vomited but after the nap he is better as he starts playing .Mummy was really happy to know that at least he stopped crying & slept for 2hours plus

Lucas & Giselle first day @ school

1st dec is first day of school for Lucas & giselle

Lucas was up early the morning i gave him his milk and change him into the uniform

when we arrived there he was excited to see lots of kids at the assembly area & they were singing songs he ok happy & fine as he likes music a lot

Mummy try to sneak away to the ladies this boy was very clever he sense that i be leaving so he cry out loud even daddy was there he still shouted for me
we spent half a day with him and after lunch we left the school.

As for giselle gal she look fine just that she did not really sleep
well as she is easily awake by the noises, hope she will get used to the noises soon.

Something about Lucas & Giselle

These are just a few of the things that we observed about Lucas and Giselle.

One time, at Granny's house, while Daddy was cutting fruits in the kitchen, Lucas was having a tug-of-war with Aunty Evelyn in the living room. He was trying to wrestle Giselle's bouncer from Aunty Evelyn's hands. In a bid to talk Lucas out of the wrestling match, Aunty Evelyn mentioned that Daddy is coming out soon.

At that very moment Daddy stepped into the living room. From the corner of his eyes, Lucas could see that "TROUBLE" was coming. The next thing that he did simply shocked both Daddy and Aunty Evelyn. In that split second that he saw Daddy coming, Lucas immediately dropped the bouncer and picked up a nearby story book, proclaiming " Book! Book!" - meaning that he wants to read the book. And when Daddy picked him up asking what had happened just now, he cried immediately.

We gathered that Lucas probably felt guilty that he did something wrong, hence the crying. We found it unbelievable that a child so small, could display such awareness of his surroundings and quick reflexes in a bid to divert attention and avoid potential trouble.

Another time, Mummy was trying to pacify a crying Giselle with a bottle of milk. As Giselle was creating a racket with her cries, Mummy put the bottle on the table to free her hands. Sensing that his baby sister is not comfortable and probably hungry, Lucas reached out, picked up the bottle and passed it to Mummy, willing her to feed Giselle with it. Mummy and Daddy were both impressed at the actions of Lucas as he exemplified awareness and sensitivity.

As for Giselle, it seems that she takes after her mummy for being a light sleeper. We noticed that she would wake up easily whenever we shift her from her cot. She is definitely growing at an exponential rate, having outgrown most of her clothings now. We are going to put the two into a child care centre soon. We hope they can get used to the place soon enough. After all, both Mummy and Daddy had to work, and both our parents are unable to take care of the kids. Let's hope for the best

Dunno why Daddy feels this way, but it seems we were pretty lop-sided in providing updates in this blog. So here's some updates on our little princess Giselle :

a. Giselle is now taken care of by Daddy's Aunt.
b. She keeps wanting to sit up up... very strong tummy muscles indeed
c. She is starting to make lots of noise... just like Lucas
d. She craves constant attention and companion. She will launch her crying weapon
when she doesn't see anyone

Sunday at Vivo

Today was a very hot day. So Daddy, Mummy along with Da Sao (Rachel) & Gu Gu (Evelyn) brought Lucas and Giselle to Vivo City. We bought a pair of sandals coz his current pair broke.

Next was the water play which Lucas loves best. He ran all over the place trying to catch the streams of water.

After that we went for a tea break. Lucas kept wanting to eat the cheesecake we bought so much so that he was prepared to say Xie Xie and PLEASE several times.

Lucas goes to the beach

We have been wanting to bring Lucas to the beach, but it never happened. So when we finally brought him there, we were as happy as Lucas.

First stop Burger King - We had some nice breakfast over there. A kind little girl gave Lucas her balloon because our little fella kept staring at her balloon.

Second stop Bicycle Ride - Lucas was exhilarated because it was his virgin ride. He kept exclaiming along the way. On the ride back, Daddy notice that Lucas was strangely quiet. It turned out that he had dozed off while sitting on the bicycle. Afraid that he might doze off and knock his front teeth off, we hurried back to the bicycle kiosk.

Today is daddy's birthday and we celebrated it back at Stuart's mum's house. We've got little Lucas to preseisnt the birthday cake to Daddy and lucas ended up leaving finger prints all over the cake before we even lit the candles. Daddy's wish is for our family to be happy and healthy forever. I also wish for Little Lucas and Giselle to be grow up steadily and be the happiest babies in the WORLD. Here's to Health & Wealth !!

Yes our darling boy is going school soon it will be on the 1st Dec
Had make one month payment plus deposit mattress and uniform all amount to $1355
just to secure a place in the centre.
Actually wanna put him in jan 2010 but teacher advised to come in early if possible as according to her there will be a batch of children coming in Jan next year so teacher may not have one to one attention

We really hope that Lucas will be happy there and can apdat to the new enviroment soon.

No more Du Du ( pacifier )

Over the september holidays, we put Lucas in Granny's care for the whole week because both of us had to attend some course. That was when Granny started to wean Lucas off his pacifier.

We always thought it would be quite difficult for Lucas to forget his Du Du. Contrary to that, he took to the process quite well. However we noticed that he started asking for milk more often. Only by drinking milk would he have gained access to a rubber teat. Smart Aleck this boy !!!

The boy and girl who always amaze us

Our children had been amazing us at regular rate of late... Here are some examples of Lucas' achievements :

He is able to pronounce "Good" very well

He is able to make the animal noises when we show him an animal book

He is able to clap his hand and stamp his leg when we sing the song "If you're happy & you know it clap your hand!"

He is able to cover his eyes and flap his hand when we ask him to

He is beginning to like books and will often go to the shelves to pull out the books on his own. Mummy & Daddy are really happy because we had been constantly reading to him during bedtime.

He is able to listen to simple instructions such as "Sit Down", "Give Give" and "Put it down"

He knows when Daddy is going to work and will carry Daddy's heavy boots for him to wear.

He knows of Giselle's existence and often calls out for 妹妹 when he comes home. He also tries to sayang his 妹妹 but obviously doesn't know how to control his strength yet.

He knows when the Barney DVD show is ending soon and will tell you " No More!"

As for Giselle, she seems pretty content to be wrapped up in a bundle. Here are some findings:

We notice that she really likes company and super-hates to be alone.

She has very strong legs and would sometimes attempt to kick and stand up when we burp her after feeding.

She will look at you with her big brown eyes when you pass her by

She tried to flip over one day when Daddy & Mummy left her on the platform unattended.

She doesn't wake up for milk in the middle of the night, unlike her 哥哥

All said, Mummmy & Daddy are already very content that we were bestowed two lovely & healthy kids. We wish for good health for our kids, ourselves, our friends and family.

We brought Lucas to fetch his Tua Peh from airport last sunday. He was running around like the whole place belong to him.

They happen to have this photo taking session with the care bears at the departure hall and we were luckly as Lucas was given a free pass by the organizer . Mummy and Gugu are more excited than Lucas haha. During the wait for our turn to take photos with Care Bears, Lucas did something pretty hilarious - he spotted a bum in front of him, and he just can't stop touching it. Even the mum of the little boy whose bum was molested can't resist taking down this video

How time flies, just a while ago Giselle was born and here we are celebrating her full month. We start preparing for this big day a few days ahead... The confinement lady Ah Ping helped to cook up a storm... while Mummy and Daddy who are no great cooks helped with the packing of the red eggs the night before.

On the morning of big day, Mummy was tasked with cutting the delicate hair of baby Giselle which symbolized that our baby has grown to a full month.

After that the Baby entourage had to return to our house to receive the guests. Most of Mummy's relatives and friends came by. All of them were amazed at the hair growing on Giselle's head.

After the last of the afternoon guests had gone we had some rest. By 6pm our friends from Moral Home, Daddy's friends and relatives also started streaming in.

Uncle Jia Jian even sneaked a little ball into Lucas, resulting in an instant pregnancy.

Today we finally we came home from the Hospital. Although there wasn't much fanfare, we still manage it off. Today was the day we brought Lucas home to be with Giselle as well. We gave him a little prezzie saying it was from his little sister... he took a liking to the his gift immediately.

Wow the day has finally come... We went to the Gynae today for checkup... it turns out that Mummy's cervix has dilated 2 cm, so the doc suggest we go home tonight for a good sleep and check into Thomson Medical tomorrow morning.

Giselle, be a good girl... mummy and daddy are waiting for to see your first smile tomorrow... We all love you....
